How to set up phone diverts
You can control your divert settings yourself or let your telephone service provider do it on your behalf. If you have a standard telephone line (analogue line) you will action and control your own diverts. If you have digital lines you can either divert your lines via your telephone system or via your service provider. If your provider has control of the divert settings any changes you want to make will have to be done by them and can take anything from 1 to 48 hours to take effect.
Before you start you’ll need to ask your service provider to activate the call divert facility on your telephone service. This should take a maximum of 24 hours and will cost you an additional fixed fee of around £7 per quarter. Once this has been activated, to divert your calls you simply need to enter a code into your phone together with the number you wish to divert the calls to. Diverted calls will be charged at normal call rates and will appear on your telephone bill.
